MiddCreate is Middlebury’s open web design project, based on the Domain of One’s Own initiative. Domain of One’s Own, named after Virginia Woolf’s “A Room of One’s Own,” is an initiative aimed at giving students, faculty, and staff a space on the web free from the restrictions of institutionally-controlled web spaces. Using MiddCreate, you or your students can design spaces for writing, self-expression, professional, academic, or creative portfolios, and more. MiddCreate offers the curious artist, writer, or academic a wide array of digital resources—like WordPress, Known, Omeka, Scalar, Drupal, and more—as well as the ability to create multiple subdomains where they can experiment and design with those resources.

Every Middlebury student, faculty, or staff can create a web site of their own using MiddCreate. To sign up and choose a domain of your own, visit the MiddCreate home page and log in using your Middlebury credentials.
